Eastbound I-70 on the Lewis and Clark Viaduct Bridge will be closed at 9 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15, for bridge maintenance work, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Motorists on eastbound I-70 will not be able to access eastbound I-70 over the Kansas River and will be directed to the off-ramp to 3rd Street, Armstrong Avenue and Fairfax Trafficway.

Motorists will need to detour on I-670 or find an alternate route, according to a MoDOT news release.

The westbound lanes of the I-70 Lewis and Clark Viaduct also are currently closed for a Kansas Department of Transportation bridge reconstruction project. Work on the bridge depends on the weather.

Motorists are asked to slow down, pay attention, buckle up and don’t use their phones in work zones, according to MoDOT.
