Kansas City, Kansas, police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting about 7:43 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the 1500 block of Cleveland Avenue.
The victim was identified as Jamal Washington, age 21, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, a police spokesman stated.
After they arrived at the scene, officers discovered a victim who had been shot, according to the spokesman. Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department personnel arrived and confirmed the victim was deceased.
The homicide is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide after responding to a shooting call at 1:22 a.m. Friday, July 26, in the 7200 block of Berger Avenue.
According to a police spokesman, officers found a man who had been shot in a vehicle, and was dead.
A female passenger in the vehicle also was shot, and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department personnel also responded and confirmed the male victim was deceased, according to the spokesman.
The incident is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

The Kansas River at 23rd Street, where the gauge is on Kansas Avenue near the state line, is currently below flood stage and below action stage, and was rising during the past day, according to hydrology charts.
