Warm, mild weather Monday, with chance of storms Tuesday

Today’s forecast from the National Weather Service calls for a high near 82, along with sunshine.

Enjoy it while you can, since there is a chance of rain in the forecast for nearly every evening this week from Tuesday on. There could be a little dry weather from Wednesday night into Thursday morning, though.

Today, the National Weather Service forecast says it will be sunny with a high near 82 and an east wind of 3 to 7 mph in Wyandotte County.

Tonight, expect a low of 62 with mostly clear skies and an east southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high near 82, the weather service said. A southeast wind will be 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Tuesday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low near 63, according to the weather service. A south southeast wind of 9 to 13 mph will gust as high as 20 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Wednesday, expect a 20 percent chance of shower and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 87 with a west wind of 7 to 11 mph.

Wednesday night will be mostly clear with a low of 62, according to the weather service.

Thursday, there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high of 83, the weather service said.

Thursday night, the low will be around 66 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Friday, expect a high near 85 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Friday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., with a low of 67, according to the weather service.

Saturday, the high will be near 83 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there will be a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 58, according to the weather service.

Sunday, expect a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 71, the weather service said.

Leavenworth High School won the Turner softball tournament, defeating Bonner Springs in the championship game, 10 – 1.
