An injury-accident was reported about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, on eastbound I-70 near the 78th Street exit.
According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s crash log, a Ford sport utility vehicle slowed for traffic and a Dodge Ram pickup truck struck it from behind.
The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck, a 39-year-old man from Overland Park, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Ford sport utility vehicle, a 55-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was not injured, according to the trooper’s report.

MLK commemorative event to be held April 4 at John Brown statue in KCK
The community is invited to a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at the John Brown Memorial statue at 27th and Sewell, Kansas City, Kansas.
