Santa Express to start Dec. 2 at Ag Hall
The Santa Express will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3, and Dec. 9 and 10, at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, Bonner Springs. Children may visit Santa in the depot, ride on the train, work on crafts, and have cookies and hot cocoa. Donations will benefit Farm Town restoration. Grinter Place to hold holiday events Dec. 2
Grinter Place is planning holiday events, Breakfast with Santa and Holiday with the Arts, on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the historic site at 78th and K-32 in Kansas City, Kansas. The Grinter barn, 1400 S. 78th St., will be the site of a Breakfast with Santa event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 2. The breakfast will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 2, while lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost for breakfast ranges from $3 to $7, while the cost of lunch will be $3. Children may have their pictures taken with Santa, receive a goodie bag and work on holiday crafts. They will receive their photos with Santa at the event. The Holiday with the Arts event, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Grinter Place museum, 1420 S. 78th, will include visiting with artists and authors, and listening to music. There will be books, paintings and pictures available for purchase. There also will be a wine tasting from Rowe Ridge with cheese and crackers. Tours of the Grinter House will be available. The event includes a portrayal of Moses Grinter by Bill Nicks, Grinter House curator, from 3 to 4 p.m. The Zane sisters will show and demonstrate beading during the event. Tickets for Holiday with the Arts are $6 per person or $10 for two persons. All funds raised through the event will go toward Grinter Place. Breakfast with St. Nick planned Dec. 2 at Strawberry Hill Museum
A Breakfast with St. Nicholas is planned from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 2 at the Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th, Kansas City, Kansas. The cost of breakfast, a visit with St. Nicholas and a picture will be $10. The visit with St. Nicholas and picture only will cost $5. An adult breakfast will be available for $6. Piper craft show to be Saturday, Dec. 2
The Piper Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Piper High School, 4400 N. 107th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The event is sponsored by the Piper High School robotics team, and money raised goes toward the team’s expenses. Admission is free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase at the craft show. It will be the 20th year for the event. The robotics team goes to national competitions almost every year.

Bonner Springs to hold Candy Cane Christmas and Mayor’s Tree Lighting Dec. 2
The Bonner Springs Candy Cane Christmas and Mayor’s Tree Lighting will be held Saturday, Dec. 2. The event includes a breakfast with Santa at the Community Center Gym from 9 to 10 a.m., $5 for residents and $7 for nonresidents, with preregistration required to www.bonnersprings.org/SantaBreakfast; 10 a.m. to noon, Santa’s Little Helpers, Community Center Gym, $5 for residents, $7 for nonresidents, drop off kids for activities while shopping, preregistration required; 10 a.m., Santa Express 5K and 1 Mile Reindeer Route, Ag Hall at the Barn, register at AgHallofFame.com; 5 to 8 p.m. Feed His Lambs Charity Chili Supper, Community Center Gym, $2 per bowl; 5 p.m., parade lineup at Bonner Springs First Christian Church, 148 N. Nettleton; 5:30 p.m., Vaughn Trent Community Services Parade and Food Drive, route is 148 N. Nettleton to Oak Street to 2nd Street to Centennial Park; 5:45 p.m., Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting at Centennial Park with Mayor’s Youth Council and Performance by Bonner Springs Elementary Rise Choir; 6:15 p.m. performance by the Premiere Dance Studio; visits with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, cookies and hot chocolate at the Community Center Gym.

Quindaro oral history project planned
Residents may record their stories about the history of Quindaro at an event today at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. REsidents may record stories of the historic Kansas City, Kansas, neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 2.

Las Posadas event planned
The West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd St., will hold a Las Posadas celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, in the library auditorium.
