Kansas City Kansas Community College’s young volleyball team could not overcome a one-sided opening set loss and was swept 3-0 by Johnson County Wednesday night.

The loss dropped the Lady Blue Devils’ record to 3-3 heading into another Jayhawk Conference home match with Highland Community College next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

One of the Jayhawk favorites, Johnson County exploded for a 25-12 win in the opening set and then closed out the match with back-to-back 25-20 decisions.

“Obviously we did not play up to our capabilities,” KCKCC coach Mary Bruno said.
