Two persons charged in incident involving 2-year-old boy

Two persons were charged in connection with a case involving a 2-year-old boy on Friday.

Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree Sr. charged Joshua Brunt, 25, and Jasmine Brunt, 25, with one count each of aggravated interference with parental custody, aggravated assault, battery and aggravated endangering a child.

The incidents occurred on Aug. 4. An Amber Alert was issued in this case.

According to the district attorney’s office, the investigation is ongoing. Joshua and Jasmine Brunt are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Storm moves through Wyandotte County

A thunderstorm with rain was moving through Wyandotte County about 3 p.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, the rainfall may continue tonight, with an 80 percent chance of rain. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain is possible tonight.

Sunday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly before 10 a.m. The high will be 77.

Wyandotte County is currently under a flash flood watch until 7 a.m. Sunday.
