Injury reported in I-70 crash

An injury was reported after a Chevrolet vehicle crashed around 3:50 a.m. Saturday on eastbound I-70 near the I-435 exit in Wyandotte County, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

According to the trooper’s report, a black sport utility vehicle cut in front of the Chevrolet, forcing the driver to take evasive action and swerve off the road to the right. The Chevrolet then crossed the lanes and struck the center median.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was not injured, according to the report.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 21-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report.

Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high near 82, and a calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of about 62, according to the weather service.

Thursday, expect sunny skies with a high near 83, the weather service said.

Thursday night, the low will be near 63 with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be sunny with a high near 82, the weather service said.

Friday night, the low will be around 64 with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 84, the weather service said.
