Parenting class to be held July 6
“Together We Can: Creating a Healthy Future for Our Family,” a parenting class, will be presented from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The class has five sessions, including July 13, 20, 27 and Aug. 3. UG Ethics Commission to meet July 6
The Unified Government Ethics Commission meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 6, on the second floor of the Wyandotte County Courthouse, 710 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The meeting will be in Division 18, in the old county commissioners’ chambers.

UG plans budget presentation July 6
The Unified Government plans a budget presentation at a meeting at 5 p.m. on July 6 at the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The regular UG meeting will follow at 7 p.m. in the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall. The agendas are online at www.wycokck.org. Other UG budget meetings include July 10, set the maximum mill levy; July 13, July 17 and July 20. On July 24, a public hearing will be held on the budget. Nine free concerts to be offered this summer at Legends Outlets
The Legends Outlets will continue its free outdoor concert series, Legends Live, on Saturday evenings this summer. Some of the performers will be local bands. The concert series will include nine performances from 5 to 7 p.m. June 10 through Aug. 5 at the Civic Courtyard Fountain at The Legends Outlets, according to a spokesman. A range of styles, including popular music, classic rock, rock alternative, rhythm and blues, country hits and selections from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and today will be featured. The concert series will end Aug. 5 with a family friendly performance tied to Legends Outlets’ Back-to-School event featuring children’s music, giveaways and activities. The Legends concerts are held near the fountain, near the Legends 14 Theatre, at 1843 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. The Legends Live concert schedule includes:
July 8: Rusty Laffoon: Soulful country band with high energy and strong vocals covering favorite country rock hits.
July 15: Perpetual Change: Rock band playing hits from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, as well as a few original songs.
July 22: Rattle and Hum: Kansas City’s premier U2 tribute band covering hits from the 1980s to current.
July 29: Big Time Grain Company: Kansas City’s premier country western and country rock band performing crowd favorites from many artists.
Aug. 5: Mr. Stinky Feet and The Hiccups (family night): Award-winning kid rocker Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” and his band, The Hiccups, performing popular children’s music.

UG Committee to meet July 10
A Unified Government Committee is scheduled to meet on Monday, July 10, at City Hall, fifth floor conference room, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The Neighborhood and Community Development Committee will meet at 5 p.m.

Candidate forum planned July 11
A forum for Unified Government mayoral candidates and Wyandotte County Sheriff candidates is planned July 11. The forum will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the First Baptist Church, 500 Nebraska Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The forum is sponsored by Unity with a Purpose. The forum is free to the public. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.
