Homicide suspect turns himself in
A homicide suspect from July 1 in the 4300 block of Lloyd Street turned himself in today without incident at the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Department, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The suspect is now in custody, and is awaiting charges, the police spokesman said.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating this case. Anyone with additional information may call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
UG Commission to meet July 6 for budget presentation
The Unified Government Commission will meet Thursday, July 6, for a budget presentation by UG Administrator Doug Bach.
Bach is expected to announce the recommended budget amounts in his presentation at 5 p.m. July 6 at the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
A series of budget workshops are planned throughout July, and a public hearing on the budget is set for 5 p.m. Monday, July 24, in the Commission Chambers.
The UG Commission also will have a meeting at 7 p.m. July 6 in the Commission Chambers at City Hall.
On the agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting are a resolution authorizing a survey for land to construct a Juvenile Center complex and a parking area.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to survey property to construct a Board of Public Utilities’ Rosedale Electric substation
