Crash reported Thursday on eastbound I-70 near Turner Diagonal

A crash was reported at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, June 15, on eastbound I-70 near the Turner Diagonal, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

According to the trooper’s report, a Chevrolet Impala was forced to slow in heavy traffic, when a Chevrolet Avalanche attempted to swerve to avoid hitting another vehicle and then hit the Impala.

The driver of the Avalanche, a 25-year-old man from Kansas City, Mo., was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Impala, a 33-year-old Overland Park, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to the hospital, the report stated.

Two Wyandotte County students on Iowa State’s spring dean’s list

Two Wyandotte County students were named to the spring dean’s list at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.

Students on the dean’s list have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
