Police ask for public’s help to locate missing person

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Matthew Johnson, 26.

Johnson is 5-foot-10 and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen around 3:30 on Sunday, June 18, wearing a black T-shirt and white shorts, according to police.

His vehicle was found in the 59th and Sewell area, and he was last reported near 4030 Nearman Drive, according to a police spokesman.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Three Wyandotte County students named to dean’s list at William Jewell College

Three students from Wyandotte County were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester at William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn at least a 3.7 grade point average while carrying 14 or more semester hours.

The Wyandotte County students on the dean’s list include:
• Gwenyth C. Barrett, Bonner Springs, Kansas, sophomore, psychological sciences and applied critical thought and inquiry;
• Kylie N. Jorgensen, Kansas City, Kansas, sophomore, biology; and
• Grace Marie Miller, Kansas City, Kansas, junior, psychological sciences and Spanish.
