Injury-accident reported on I-70

An injury-accident was reported on I-70 near the Turner Diagonal about 2:53 p.m. April 29.

According to the trooper’s report, a Chevrolet Silverado was westbound on I-70 and lost control on wet pavement, then struck the barrier wall.

A woman passenger in the truck, a 69-year-old woman from Topeka, Kansas, was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the truck, a 32-year-old Olathe, Kansas, man, was not injured, the report stated.

Meet the manager at T-Bones event Friday

Fans are invited to meet the T-Bones’ new manager at an event scheduled Friday evening.

According to information from the T-Bones, the meet-and-greet with Joe Calfapietra, the new manager, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Danny’s Bar and Grill, 10940 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas.

The new manager will give a preview of the season.

Accident occurs after Jeep hydroplanes on I-35

A 19-year-old Shawnee, Kansas, woman was taken to the hospital after an accident at 4:22 p.m. April 29 on northbound I-35, just north of 18th Street in Kansas City, Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Jeep was northbound on I-35 when it hydroplaned, spun into another lane, and struck a Ford Escort head-on.

The driver of the Ford Escort was injured, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Jeep, a 34-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, was not injured, according to the trooper’s report.
