T-Bones open exhibition games tonight in KCK

The Kansas City T-Bones kick off the 2017 season with a series of exhibition games starting tonight, according to a T-Bones spokesman.

The game begins at 7:05 p.m. May 9 against Lees Summit at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas.

The regular season opener is at 7:05 p.m. May 19 against the Lincoln Saltdogs at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Other exhibition games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark will include games on Wednesday and Thursday against the Gary SouthShore Railcats, and games on Sunday and Monday against the Winnipeg Goldeyes, a T-Bones spokesman said.

The ticket prices for exhibition games will be the same as for regular games. Tickets range from $6.50 each for berm seating on the lawn, to $9 for bleacher select seating, $11 for select seating in the lower level reserved areas, $13 for choice seating in the lower level reserved area between dugouts, and $16 for prime seating close to home plate, with padded seating. There is a $2 surcharge for tickets purchased on game day.

BPU to meet May 10

The Board of Public Utilities is scheduled to meet Wednesday, May 10, at the BPU administrative offices, 540 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

The work session will begin at 5 p.m. On the agenda is a board update, a general manager update and an information technology review.

At 6 p.m., the regular session is scheduled. On the agenda is a visitors’ time, election of officers, annual audit report, the 2016 and 2017 financial reports, board comments, general manager comments, and an executive closed session.
