The event is free and open to the public.

The service will bring together veterans, patriots and citizens to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The event will feature the popular “Avenue of Flags,” which lines many of the roadways inside the cemetery, created by volunteers with the American Legion, who also coordinate the placement of flags on the gravesites of veterans buried at Chapel Hill.

The service will feature a bagpiper, laying of a memorial wreath, a 21 gun salute, and the playing of taps by Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens General Manager, Joel Brinkley, which will also happen periodically throughout the weekend.
