High school basketball players will compete April 13 at SHUKC All-Star Game

The 2017 SHUKC All Star Game will be played at Basehor-Linwood High School on Thursday, April 13, starting at 5:45 p.m.

The event features senior basketball players from Wyandotte County’s two high school leagues, the Kansas City – Atchison League (KCAL) and Kaw Valley League (KVL). Tickets are $5 at the door, and children 9 and under are free. More information is available at http://www.shukc.com.

“It is an opportunity to spotlight the kids in our community,” David Brox, SHUKC founder, said. “I started SHUKC because the Star or news stations didn’t cover KCK and the surrounding area. I wanted the community to have an event that is theirs.”

The KVL girls team includes Alexis Dominguez (Bishop Ward), Essence Haygood (Turner), Ciara Ayala (Turner), Maya Morrow (Piper), Miya Ford (Piper), and Shaunie Lanning (Bonner Springs).

The boys game will start around 8:15 p.m. The KCAL boys team includes Demarco Smith (Washington), Marcus Henderson (Washington), Xzavier Hoy (Washington), Tama Johnson (Schlagle), Dominique Sanders (Schlagle), Malik Cushon (Schlagle), BJ Heard (Harmon), Vance Jackson (Sumner Academy), and Lei’Andrew Nelson (Wyandotte).
