Jeffrey W. Platt Jr.

Jeffrey Wayne Platt Jr. was charged on Tuesday in Wyandotte County District Court with first-degree murder.

District Attorney Mark Dupree Sr. charged Platt in connection with the killing of Marlon Williams on Jan. 16, 2014, according to a spokesman for the district attorney’s office.

The previous district attorney’s office chose not to go forward with the case, and it was refiled Tuesday, according to the spokesman. It involved a shooting in downtown Kansas City, Kan.

Platt is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
