Drizzle today, winter storm possible Friday night

Today, there will be a slight chance of drizzle before 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Skies will change from mostly cloudy to sunny, with the temperature at 57 degrees at 8 a.m., then decreasing to around 42 by 5 p.m., the weather service said.

A west northwest wind today of 15 to 20 mph will decreaseto 8 to 13 mph in the afternoon, gusting as high as 34 mph, according to the weather service.

Tonight, expect a low of 35 with a west wind of 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast after midnight, the weather service said.

Wednesday, it will be partly sunny with a high of 58, according to the weather service. A south wind of 9 to 13 mph will become northwest in the afternoon. Winds may gust as high as 24 mph.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 21 and a north northwest wind of 9 mph, the weather service said.

Thursday, the high will be near 31 with partly sunny skies, according to the weather service. A north northwest wind will be around 9 mph.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 17, the weather service said.

Friday, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 29, according to the weather service.

Friday night, there is a 60 percent chance of freezing rain, mainly after midnight, with a low of 22, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 50 percent chance of freezing rain, with a high near 31, the weather service said.

Sunday, there is a 60 percent chance of rain or freezing rain, with a high near 38, according to the weather service.

Sunday night, there is a 50 percent chance of rain or freezing rain, with a low of 28, the weather service said.

On Monday, Martin Luther King Day, there is a 40 percent chance of rain or freezing rain, with a high near 43, according to the weather service.

Ramps, roads to close tonight in downtown Kansas City, Mo.

Some ramps and roads in the downtown Kansas City, Mo., loop will close tonight and continue closed at night Thursday, Jan. 12, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Guardrail repair work will be done, according to the announcement. All work is weather-dependent.

The locations of closures and times:

•The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-35, Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 9 and 10, from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
•The ramp from southbound I-35 to 12th Street, Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 9 and 10, from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
•The ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-35 Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
•The right lane closure on southbound I-35 from 27th Street to Jarboe Street Thursday, Jan. 12, from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
