Injuries reported in crash near K-7 and I-70

A man was air-lifted to the University of Kansas Hospital following the crash of two pickup trucks this morning near K-7 and I-70 in Bonner Springs.

The crash happened at 10:25 a.m., according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

The trooper’s report stated that a Ford pickup truck made a lane change from right to left, and came upon a Chevy pickup truck that was stopped at a red light and was just getting started to move. The Ford truck hit the back of the Chevy truck, according to the report.

The driver of the Chevy truck, a 22-year-old man from Rogers, Ark., was taken by air ambulance to KU Hospital, the report stated.

A passenger in the Chevy truck, a 33-year-old man from Rogers, Ark., also was injured and taken to the hospital, the report said.

The driver of the Ford pickup, a 54-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.

A passenger in the Ford pickup, a 29-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., had a possible injury, the report stated.

Public asked to help locate missing woman

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department is asking the public’s assistance to locate a missing woman, Samantha Whiteley, age 34.

She has brown hair, brown eyes, is about 5-feet tall and weighs 130 pounds, according to police.

Whiteley has been missing since the middle of November and it is unknown what she was last seen wearing, police said.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
