Vigil planned tonight to raise awareness for infant loss
Healthy Communities Wyandotte will hold a candlelight vigil and balloon release from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Huron Park, located between 6th and 7th on Ann Avenue in downtown Kansas City, Kan.
In partnership with Project HOPE, the purpose of this event is to raise awareness of pregnancy and infant loss in Wyandotte County.
Victim of shooting near 2nd and Walker dies
The victim of a shooting at 3:20 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 200 block of Walker Avenue has died, police said.
According to Kansas City, Kan., police, the victim was found wounded inside a residence at that address. Police, responding to the shooting, discovered the victim had been shot multiple times, according to a spokesman.
He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The victim was a man in his mid-30s, police said.
A person of interest was taken into custody, according to police.
