Rain in tonight’s forecast

Rain and storms will return tonight in the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Today will be sunny with a high near 83, according to the weather service. Tonight, after 1 a.m., there will be a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers, the weather service said.

Some thunderstorms may become strong, according to the weather service. Storms will become more isolated Tuesday and Wednesday over the region, with some strong storms Tuesday afternoon.

More widespread storms will be in Thursday and will stick around through Saturday morning for the region. No severe weather is anticipated at this time but heavy rainfall is possible, according to the weather service.

While skies will be sunny today, expect winds to increase, with a south wind of 8 to 14 mph gusting to as high as 18 mph, according to the weather service.

Tonight, the low will be around 68 with a south wind of 9 to 11 mph, the weather service said. The 30 percent chance of storms will occur after 1 a.m., according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 82, the weather service said. A south southwest wind of 7 to 9 mph will change to northwest in the afternoon.

Tuesday night, according to the weather service, there is a 50 percent chance of precipitation, with a low of 62. There is a north northeast wind of 8 mph, and between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday will bring a 30 percent chance of showers, and a high near 74, the weather service said. There will be a north northeast wind of 8 mph.

Wednesday night, expect a 30 percent chance of rain and storms, according to the weather service. The low will be around 64.

On Thursday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said. The high will be near 78.

Thursday night, expect a 60 percent chance of rain and storms, with a low of 66, according to the weather service.

Friday’s forecast is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said, with a high near 78.

Friday night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain and storms, with a low of 62, the weather service said.
