Local author to speak Oct. 6

Local author Kira McConico will discuss her book, Fixing Broken,” on Oct. 6 at the Bonner Springs City Library, 201 N. Nettleton Ave., Bonner Springs.

“Fixing Broken” is a Christian based self-help book for people who are seeking to recover their emotional wholeness.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6.

Scripturally based, the book describes and discusses the truth about pain, how it behaves and the steps necessary to fix the broken places in people’s lives.

Beyond the subject of pain alone, included are step-by-step suggestive exercises and assignments to purge the pain within and to move forward in life free of hurt, pain and disappointments.

Vehicle spins out on I-70, hits embankment twice

A Dodge Journey spun out, went off the roadway and struck an embankment on Sept. 14 on westbound I-70 near K-7, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

The crash happened around 7:33 a.m. Sept. 14. After hitting the embankment, the Journey spun around again and struck it a second time, the report stated.

A 22-year-old Leawood, Kan., woman was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
