Homicide victim identified

The victim of a homicide at 4301 State Avenue on Monday has been identified by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.

The victim was Clarence Buford, 21, of Kansas City, Kan., a police spokesman said.

Police officers were called to the scene about 2:19 p.m. Monday and found Buford dead from an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot, the spokesman said.

There is no suspect information at this time, according to the spokesman.

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Wednesday’s weather: Sunny and mild

Sunny and mild weather is in store for today, according to the National Weather Service.

Today, the high will be near 68, with sunny skies and a north wind of 8 to 13 mph, the weather service said.

Calm conditions will remain through the rest of the week and into the weekend, the weather service said.

For Wednesday night, the low will be around 49, with a north wind of 5 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.

Thursday, expect a high of 71 with sunny skies and a north wind of 6 to 9 mph, the weather service said. Thursday night, the low will be around 50.

Friday’s forecast is sunny with a high near 72 and a north wind of 3 to 8 mph, according to the weather service. Friday night, the low will be around 52 with mostly clear skies.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 72, the weather service said. Saturday night, the low will be around 54.

Sunday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 76, according to the weather service.
