Bonner Springs woman wins $25,000 in lottery drawing

Amber Lowe of Bonner Springs won $25,000 on June 11 from a Kansas Lottery drawing held at the Wichita Riverfest.

Lowe was one of five finalists in the drawing. The other winners included:

Carol Bouska of Beloit and Shirley Branstetter of Wichita each won $5,000 as second-place finishers. The other two finalists, Kelly Lowry of Plainville and Amy Wilds of Kansas City, Kan., each won $1,000.

The finalists became eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing Event by entering non-winning $5 Treasure Hunt instant tickets into a May 27 drawing.

In a separate Kansas Lottery drawing at Wichita Riverfest June 11, Tom Smiley of Wichita won $5,000 cash. Entries in that drawing were non-winning Treasure Hunt tickets deposited at Riverfest.

Leavenworth Road Association to meet June 14

The Leavenworth Road Association will meet Tuesday, June 14, at Eisenhower Center, 2901 N. 72nd St., Kansas City, Kan. A potluck dinner and social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker at the meeting will be a Unified Government codes officer.

She will discuss procedures in place for violations, highlight some of the violations and answer questions.

Blood drive scheduled today

Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland, Kansas City, Kan., is holding a Community Blood Center blood drive from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Wyandotte United Methodist fellowship hall.
