Hollywood Casino revenues flat in March
Revenues for Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway were flat in March, according to figures released this afternoon by the Kansas Lottery Commission.
Gaming revenues at Hollywood Casino were $12.90 million in March, as compared to $12.91 million in February, according to Kansas Lottery figures.
Keith Kocher, director of program assurance and integrity at the Kansas Lottery, said March is usually higher than February, but February had been a record month.
The March 2016 revenues were an increase of $165,000, or 1.3 percent, over March 2015, according to a written report from Rick Skinner, Hollywood Casino vice president and general manager, to the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.
He reported that slot revenue was $11 million, an increase of $165,000, or 1.5 percent, over March of the previous year. Table games revenue was $1.9 million, about even with the previous year.
Nice weather in March helped attendance, he stated. Skinner reported that while they are Jayhawk fans, the Hollywood Casino’s attendance figures were down on both Saturday evenings in March – March 12 and 19 – that the Jayhawks were playing tournament games.
Promotions have been scheduled there, and some upcoming promotions include Mother’s Day weekend, with NASCAR races scheduled May 6 and 7 at the Kansas Speedway.
At the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kan., total gross gaming revenue was down in March 2016 by 1.6 percent, compared to March 2015, according to the casino’s report to the KRGC.
Kansas Star had $16.2 million in gaming revenues in March 2016 as compared to $16.439 in February 2016.
While gaming revenue was down, March admissions at Kansas Star were up by three-tenths of one percent, according to the report.
Boot Hill Casino in Dodge City, Kan., experienced a decrease in total gaming revenue of 12.15 percent in March 2016 compared with March 2015, according to its report to the KRGC.
It reported $3.37 million in gaming revenue in March 2016, and $3.63 million in Feburary 2016.
Promotions scheduled for the Boot Hill casino are appearances by the Beach Boys on May 18 and Styx on Aug. 25 at United Wireless.
