The Cathedral of St. Peter, 416 N. 14th St., Kansas City, Kan., will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday on April 3 in Spanish beginning with a procession at 2 p.m. followed by a holy hour with recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, Kan., will observe Divine Mercy Sunday starting at 2 p.m. April 3. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be at 3 p.m. and Mass will be at 3:15 p.m.
Judson Baptist Church, 8300 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will resume its regular Sunday morning schedule in April, including Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month; and for the remaining Sundays, 8:30 a.m., first morning service, 9:45 a.m., Sunday school, and 11 a.m., second Sunday service. The American Baptist Women Ministries will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4.
The Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will hold a Scripture Group and Bible study from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays. Bible sharing and reflection, lectio and journaling will be led by Heather Neds, pastoral minister.
Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 9301 Parallel Parkway, is offering a Career and Education Fair Saturday, April 9, for residents of Wyandotte County and surrounding cities. Local employers and educational institutions will have information at the Career and Education Fair. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 9 at the church. It is open to the public. After registration from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., the event will include speaker presentations at 9 a.m., with the career fair and mini workshops from 9 a.m. to noon. Workshops will be held on resume and application review; appropriate interview questions; dress for success; computer assistance for applying online; and employment reference information. High school and college students, and the public, may attend this event. There are expected to be full-time, part-time, internships and seasonal employment opportunities. Business professionals who work in specific careers will talk with potential applicants about obtaining employment. Professionals will answer questions about their organizations and available positions. There will be demonstrations, interactive designs, mini-learning sessions to help job applicants learn about careers.
Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., will hold a junior-senior high youth movie night from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in the Cole activity center at the church. Those attending may bring a snack to share.
St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th, Kansas City, Kan., will hold Divine Mercy Sunday on April 3. A holy hour at 4 p.m. will include the enthronement of the Divine Mercy image. On Saturday, April 9, St. Patrick Parish Center will be the site of a taco-bingo fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. The fundraiser is by the Bishop Ward graduating class. Cost is $5 for three tacos, rice and a drink. Bingo will be played at an additional cost.
Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan., will observe the third Sunday in the Easter season April 10. The service in English will be at 10 a.m. and in Spanish at 7 p.m.
Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., will conclude its series on the Gospel of John, at worship services 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, April 3, focusing on the 21st chapter of John.

KCK woman arrested in Platte County
A 28-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman was arrested at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, April 2, in Platte County, Mo., according to Missouri Highway Patrol records.
The charges included five warrants from the Independence police; possession of marijuana; no seat belt; no valid license; and failure to display valid plates. She was taken to the Platte County Jail.
