Teenager in critical condition after I-70 shooting in KCK

One teenager is in critical condition following a shooting this evening on eastbound I-70 at I-670 in Kansas City, Kan., according to a police spokesman.

Officers responded to the shooting about 5:06 p.m. Friday, March 11, and found two males in their late teens in a black Camaro, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the police spokesman.

The victims were taken to a hospital. One was in critical condition, the police spokesman said.

Police are looking for a 2010-2014 maroon GMC Envoy, possibly occupied by two males.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Shooting reported at I-70 and I-670

Officers have responded to a shooting at I-70 and I-670 in Kansas City, Kan., according to information from the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.

Two persons were shot, with one in critical condition, according to police. The other has minor injuries. They are both males in their late teens.

There are two male suspects in a red GMC Envoy that headed east, police said.

The call came in about 5:06 p.m. March 11, police said.

I-70 eastbound is closed at I-670, according to KC Scout, and motorists should use an alternate route.
