Tornado watch issued for Wyandotte County

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in effect for Wyandotte County from 11:20 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The tornado watch also is in effect for Johnson, Leavenworth, Atchison, Brown and Doniphan counties in Kansas. In Missouri, it covers Jackson, Clay, Ray, Platte, and many other counties.

Man dies in traffic accident at I-35 and Cambridge Circle

One man died and another person was injured in a single-car accident about 7:14 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at I-35 and Cambridge Circle.

According to the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department spokesman, when the police officers arrived, they found a man in his early 50s dead from his injuries.

Another occupant of the vehicle was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, the spokesman said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was northbound on Cambridge when it lost control and rolled, ejecting one of the occupants, the police spokesman said.

The identity of the victim will be released pending positive identification and family notification.

The accident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team.
