Driver injured after hitting sign in work area on I-70

A driver was injured after hitting a sign on I-70 eastbound near the Indian Springs exit, according to a report from the Kansas Turnpike Authority.

The trooper’s report stated the accident was at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 28.

A driver was eastbound on I-70 in a Toyota vehicle when she continued in a closed lane and hit an arrow board and wall, the trooper’s report stated.

Debris from the barrier wall struck a Jeep utility vehicle that was traveling west, and both vehicles have damage, the trooper’s report stated.

The driver of the Toyota, a 54-year-old woman from Lansing, Kan., was injured, the report said.

The driver of the Jeep, a 52-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was not injured, according to the report.

Homicide victim identified

The victim from a homicide on Oct. 26 in the 1300 block of North 18th Street has been identified, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.

The victim was Joel T. Solis-Robles, 30, a resident of Shawnee, Kan.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit.
