BPU to vote on labor agreements July 15

The Board of Public Utilities will vote on whether to approve labor agreements at the 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, meeting.

The meeting will be in the BPU’s board offices at 540 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan.

At a work session at 5 p.m., the BPU board will hear a general manager and board update; a business system update; and an Oracle-Fusion update.

Other items on the 6 p.m. agenda include a time for visitors to speak; a closed executive session, a Wester Fuels resolution; an update on electric operations and board and general manager comments.

Shooting reported on North 13th

Kansas City, Kan., police officers responded to reports of a shooting around 1:15 p.m. Friday, July 10, in the 2900 block of North 13th.

The shooting victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, according to officials. There is a possible suspect in custody.
