Author writes murder mystery

A former resident of Kansas City, Kan., Clyde Calvin Glandon, has written a crime novel set in Kansas City, Kan., his hometown. Glandon uses the pen name “C. G. Calvin” in writing “Wyandotte Sonata.”

Lee Hunter, a private investigator from Los Angles, returns to Kansas City and takes a job with a security company. Suddenly he finds himself immersed in a murder mystery.

Two KCK drivers involved in injury-accident on I-35

Two Kansas City, Kan., drivers were involved in an accident Thursday afternoon on I-35 northbound near 87th Street in Lenexa, Kan.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a semi and a Chevy Tahoe were northbound on I-35 about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, when the Tahoe braked in response for traffic. The semi could not stop in time and struck the Tahoe, according to the report.

The driver of the semi, a 55-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, had a possible injury, according to the report.

The driver of the Tahoe, a 38-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.

KCK man dies in I-35 accident in Gardner area

A Kansas City, Kan., man died Dec. 3 in an accident on I-35 near Gardner Road in Johnson County.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the Gardner police received multiple calls about erratic driving of the vehicle before the accident, and repeated attempts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Arthur Lee Wright, 65 years old, of Kansas City, Kan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
