Advance voting open today
Advance voting is open at two sites today in Wyandotte County.
The Election Office, 850 State Ave., will be open for advance voting:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
The satellite site at the Kansas Speedway, near I-70 and 110h Street, will be open for touchscreen voting only:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
(Directions: Take State Avenue to Village West Parkway, turn south on Village West Parkway, continue to its end at the intersection of 110th Street and Speedway Boulevard, turn right to Speedway Boulevard, then shortly afterward, turn left into the driveway for the Speedway voting place.)
Voting hours on Election Day, Nov. 4, are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the regular polling places throughout Wyandotte County.
Voters must be previously registered to vote, and must bring their driver’s license or other valid photo identification with them to the polls.

A get out the vote rally is planned on Saturday at the Brotherhood Bank parking lot in downtown Kansas City, Kan.

Grinter Place to hold chili supper, silent auction Nov. 1
Grinter Place State Historic Site, the oldest home in Wyandotte County, will hold a chili supper and silent auction from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. Dinner guests can tour the house, enjoy live music, and bid in the silent auction. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door; children 5 and younger are free. Proceeds from supper and auction benefit programs at Grinter Place. UG to hold strategic planning session Saturday
The Unified Government Commission will hold a special session at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, in Suite 515, the Executive Conference and Standing Committee room, at City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan. The purpose of the special meeting will be to hold a commission strategic planning session, according to an announcement.
