Flash flooding reported in KCK

Heavy rains and lightning have returned to Wyandotte County during the past half-hour, with flash flooding and high water at some locations.

Intersections near 10th and Kansas Avenue, Mill and Bunker-Central, and 4th and Armstrong are reported to have high water. These locations were reported at 10 a.m. to have high water, following heavy rains in the past 24 hours, a spokesman said.

Residents are advised to not drive through intersections where there is high water, but to find alternate routes.

A spokesman for the Unified Government said every effort is being made to clear these intersections, and residents should try to avoid them until then.
