Accident on I-635 sends driver to hospital

The driver of a Ford 500 braked and swerved this morning on I-635 to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of her. Instead, the driver hit the barrier wall.

The other vehicle had changed lanes in front of her and braked hard before the accident, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

After braking hard and swerving, the Ford struck the barrier wall on I-635 north of State Avenue around 10:47 a.m., the report stated.

The driver of the Ford, a 30-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, had a possible injury and was taken to the hospital. A 30-year-old man in the Ford was not injured.
