A 16-year-old male suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, in the 1400 block of Kansas Avenue, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman.
The teen, who had an apparent gunshot wound, was found inside a vehicle, according to police, who responded to the scene.
The teen was taken to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The passenger, a minor male, was not injured, police stated.
Based on initial information, police said the victim’s vehicle was believed to have been traveling westbound on Kansas Avenue when it was struck by gunfire from a vehicle traveling eastbound. The suspect’s vehicle fled, police stated.
