12 charges filed against suspect in homicide, stabbing, car thefts

Twelve charges have been filed against a suspect in a homicide Wednesday in the 7900 block of Sandusky.

The suspect, Alyssa Leanne Arreola, was charged Thursday in Wyandotte County District Court with second-degree murder in the death of a local resident.

Arreola also was charged with attempted first-degree murder in the stabbing of a woman in the 78th area on Wednesday, or in the alternative, aggravated battery.

The third charge against Arreola was aggravated robbery of a Hyundai Tucson vehicle. She was armed with a firearm at the time, according to the warrant information.

Aggravated burglary was the fourth charge, for unlawfully entering or remaining within a dwelling in which there was a human, with the intent to commit a felony.

Arreola was charged with a fifth count, burglary, for entering a building used as a dwelling to commit the theft of a firearm.

The sixth count was burglary of a Kia Spectra.

The seventh count was burglary of a Hyundai Tucson.

Arreola was charged with an eighth count, theft of a firearm, a Smith and Wesson .38.

The ninth count against Arreola was theft of a firearm, a Springfield XD .40.

The 10th count was theft of a firearm, a Taurus .45.

The 11th count was theft of the Kia Spectra.

The 12th count was theft of the Hyundai Tucson.

All of the incidents took place Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the warrant.

Police said on Wednesday that a suspect stole a car from Sam’s Club parking lot in the Village West area in the morning, and that vehicle then was in an accident at 83rd and State around 10:18 a.m. The same vehicle then was in an accident near 78th and Tauromee.

Fleeing the vehicle, the suspect then broke into the house of an elderly resident, stabbing her, according to police. The woman is expected to live.

A little after 1 p.m. Wednesday, police were notified about a shooting in the 7900 block of Sandusky, where an adult male was killed. The man’s car was stolen.

The car and a suspect were taken into custody in Kansas City, Missouri, later on Wednesday, according to the KCK police spokesman.

Arreola, age 22, a resident of Independence, Missouri currently remains in the Jackson County Jail, but has now been charged by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office. Her bail was set at $500,000.
