Wednesday’s weather is mostly sunny with a high in the upper 30s.

The wind will be from the northwest at 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

At 8 a.m., the temperature was 37 degrees, with a wind chill index of 32.

At 3 p.m., the temperature is projected to be 35 degrees, and at 6 p.m. today, 31 degrees.

Tonight’s low will be around 21.

Thursday, expect sunny skies with a high near 38, and calm winds becoming east northeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night will have a low of 26.

Friday, there will be mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 40.

Friday night, look for a 30 percent chance of rain and a low of 38.

Saturday, there will be a 40 percent chance of rain and a high near 52.

Leadership 2000 Class 28 tonight presented 8th Street YMCA and Associated Youth Services with a check for the Night Hoops program. Washington staff member under investigation

An employee at Washington High School has been placed on leave without pay while an investigation is made into an incident.

A spokesman for the Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools stated today that an employee is on leave without pay, while the district investigates an incident at Washington High School.

The incident has been referred to the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department for follow-up, the spokesman said. The spokesman was not aware of any injuries.

A parent said today that an employee at the school allegedly pushed a student on Monday and made remarks to him. There was no injury, she added. She said there were also incidents with other students.
